Urgent appointments

How to request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday)

• online appointment request form open Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 18.30pm
• phone us on 01293 223666, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 18.30pm
• visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 18.30pm

Please note that all requests for an URGENT GP appointment are triaged by one of our GP team. Although we provide some limited urgent same day appointments, GPs are not an emergency service, and therefore we cannot guarantee we can provide a same day appointment.

If you make a request for an urgent appointment after 12pm, it will not be possible to book the same day, and we will review your request the following working day.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment:

• online appointment request form open Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 18.30pm
• use the GP online system – SystmOnline for nurse appointment including blood tests (if requested by GP), blood pressure, and cervical screening
• call the practice on 01293 223666, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 18.30pm
• come into the practice and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 18.30pm
• use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

• by phone
• face to face at the surgery
• by text or email

Appointments by phone, by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

• use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
• using the GP online system – SystmOnline
• phone us on 01293 223666 and select option 2, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 18.30pm
• reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

• if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
• if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by text or email
• if you need an interpreter
• if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

To request a home visit:

• Online appointment request form Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 18.30pm.
• Call the practice as soon after 8.00am as possible.

Extended access appointments

We are part of an Enhanced Access programme that provides out of hours appointments for our patients, hosted at one of our practices, Leacroft Medical Practice.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 5pm to 8pm and Saturdays, 9am – 4pm. This includes face-to-face and remote appointments (except Friday evenings, which are remote only).

To book an out of hours appointment you should request an appointment in the usual way and specify that you would like an evening or weekend appointment.
